There’s no backstory about dissatisfaction with her husband; it’s just a story of her getting ravished and falling easily. There’s no depiction of her struggling with guilt, just the same old predictable sex scenes (though, unusually, there’s no bathroom scene). Even the climax where the husband catches them is handled so flatly, with no real panic. The husband’s reaction is also way too weak—he should be angry or at least confused. And it’s strange that the wife is still at home in the final scene. Shouldn't she be the one leaving?
Sumire-san seems to play more fragile roles compared to her Natsume era, so she lacks impact. The sex scenes are also quite tame. Although there are scenes later on where she clearly enjoys being with men other than her husband, I'm still a fan. Also, the ending is just confusing. It's the same pattern where the husband catches her in the act and leaves the room dejected, but afterwards, Sumire-san is still living in the same house. Wouldn't she normally be kicked out? In the earlier Otome video, there was a scene where she packed her bags and left the empty house, right? It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That said, they cast a young actor this time, which was a good move. Sorry to say, but I'm glad they're moving on from Sagawa and Tabuchi and bringing in younger talent. Times have changed, after all.
Another mediocre release. The male actor is probably the problem. I also have doubts about the actress's acting; there's no sense of desperation or intensity. Maybe it's time for this studio to stop branding itself as a 'rape' specialist.
