I thought Akinori was a studio known for high-quality, drama-focused productions, great acting, elaborate direction, and detailed sets. But over the past year, drama-style works have almost disappeared, some months had no releases, and the quality has dropped so drastically that I wonder if it's even the same studio. Even the cover art lacks any of the 'Akinori' feel; it's just loud and cheap-looking, like a generic hookup ad. The scenarios are just taking a girl to a hotel and having sex. Is this really the same Akinori? I felt something was off when they stopped DVD releases and went digital-only... is this the impact of COVID? Does Akinori no longer have the budget or capacity to produce high-quality work? Please, go back to the old Akinori. I'm rooting for you.
