Hmm, honestly, just the difference between black and blue hair makes it feel like I'm watching an alien have sex... (lol). That said, I don't think the actual play is that bad.

As expected, the criticism is focused on the wig. It definitely doesn't suit the production at all. Nowadays, cosplayers study makeup techniques and color contacts to make even flashy wigs look natural. But no matter how well you do the makeup, it's pointless under the dim lighting used in this film. You should learn a thing or two about makeup from real cosplayers and lighting from a skilled photographer.

Both Ryoko Hirosaki's charm and the appeal of the cosplay are completely wasted. I have no idea what the director was trying to capture.

I get that they were going for an Ayanami Rei vibe, but I didn't realize it would be such a turn-off. The power of that blue hair is something else. I can't recommend this to anyone unless you're into this specific style or a completionist who needs every one of her works.
