It doesn't make sense she wouldn't be treated with respect, or that she'd be returned to the people who brought her in. With 'eight months' of simmering resentment at stake, and lacking that initial heat of 'spite,' it feels like it can't sustain itself. Is it the actress's temperament or understanding? The forced reactions in the first half were more convincing than the more 'gone' reactions later on. Ultimately, it's a shame both the psychological and physical arousal weren't heightened.
