Because it was filmed that way, close things (the actress's face during a kiss) look larger, while distant things (like cowgirl position) look smaller. Basically, the perspective is a bit too distant, making it hard for the actress's kisses to feel intimate. You can zoom in by adjusting the screen, but since the footage is optimized for a slightly distant view, zooming in naturally degrades the image quality. I have no complaints about the actress. But that's the thing about VR—the equipment and the cameraman's skill can ruin everything.
