Non-stop Abuse: Kaoru Shimazu

She's just scared; there's nothing 'M' about her. She lacks the skill to act out the pleasure of masochism and just screams and shrieks, which makes it completely uninteresting. It's just constant abuse, and I doubt there was any proper acting direction. If she were a clever actress who could grasp the director's intent on her own, it would be fine, but I don't think she is. Even with Hitomi Enjo doing a great job supporting her, the lead just can't read the room at all. It's frustrating and kills the mood. It's just a scene of someone bullying an older woman with no real excitement or substance. The concept isn't bad, so if they had cast a genuine masochist instead of a fake one, it could have been a great piece.
I had such high expectations, so I'm really disappointed. It's one thing to be scared of the whip and candles, but she just spends the whole time acting like it hurts. Enjo-san's tormenting also feels lackluster and doesn't really build any tension.
