Actually, when I bought it, my only thought was that the cheerleader costume was cute, but after watching actual high school baseball cheerleaders, it got me really excited. I guess the context is really important for cosplay themes.
I watched Crystal VR for the first time in a while. Actually, I bought it because I wanted to see Mao Watanabe, who has already retired. The reason it's been a while is that Crystal VR mostly features cosplay-style outfits and has many clothed parts, which doesn't really fit my taste. Even if it doesn't fit my taste, Crystal VR definitely has its merits. I think their scripts, in particular, really bring out the potential of the actresses. Mao Watanabe's abilities were fully utilized in this work as well. ...So, giving it 5 stars would be fine, but the filming style is still 'Kurizo VR,' so it feels like the same pattern as other actresses' works. Other directors have their quirks too, but Crystal VR emphasizes them so much that it's very hit-or-miss. That stubbornness is both a strength and a weakness. The reason I watched it after so long is that I can read the general progression from the sample images, and it never betrays those expectations. I'm fundamentally in favor of not losing focus, but it makes a difference whether that focus is on the viewer or the director. For example, ceiling-focused shots are the manufacturer realizing the perspective viewers want to see. Ground-focused or face-focused shots are the same—they are the manifestation of the VR-specific desire to see the expressions the actress feels up close. These are things most adult VR users want. On the other hand, cosplay, clothed play, or localized POV shots are fine as a spice, but when they last the whole time, I'd rather just watch it in 2D. As a production that makes good use of the actress, Kurizo VR is top-tier, but it's also Kurizo VR that leaves me feeling unsatisfied in terms of story and emotional immersion. It's high-ranking as a VR to see Mao Watanabe's charm, but if you ask me if I was excited, it's more of a 'hmm...' feeling. It feels closer to watching an actress's image video in a 2D production.
The actress's simple, cute face matched her body type well, which was nice. If I had to ask for more, I would've liked to see a cowgirl position included.
Mao-san is a great actress with real acting skills. The cheerleader outfit suits her perfectly.
