The confusion, shyness, and intense desire were good, but I think they could have emphasized their dissatisfaction with the husband more. For example, the father-in-law could have stoked her resentment toward the husband behind the mirror, or they could have badmouthed the husband (son) during sex, or even had her tell the staff that the father-in-law was better than the husband.

The premise of being conscious of what's behind the magic mirror adds a nice touch to her gestures in some episodes. That's worth a bit of a bonus in my rating.
