Because of that, in the first rape scene, it makes perfect sense that while she resists mentally, her body is almost compliant, secretly wanting to be ravished like a beast. The way a chaste wife gradually starts looking forward to how she'll be violated is erotically compelling. It's not a perfect 10/10 due to minor flaws like the lazy fade-out ending, the unrealistic age gap between the husband and his mother, and the fact that no one hears her screaming in the middle of the night, but the actress's ability to portray a chaste wife falling into depravity makes it a solid work.
