I'm a fan of Nozomi Hazuki, but I was hesitant because of the 'villain' setting where she frames Saki Hatsumi. Still, I pre-ordered it. The setting is clearly defined as wartime, even including monpe pants—it's a story-driven work that really pays attention to detail, even using period-appropriate dialogue. It feels like a 176-minute long-form drama, almost like something you'd see on a national broadcaster. The rape and lesbian scenes are intense, making it a story-focused AV that rivals Attackers' productions. The film starts with a silent play where Hazuki pays with her body to get black-market rice without her bedridden father hearing. Her writhing and longing were incredibly erotic. The acting where she feels guilt and self-loathing while watching Saki Hatsumi get raped was also superb. Hazuki's 'ero-switch' turns on at track 17 again. I don't mind this kind of development, but the lack of any 'training' phase is a bit disappointing. There's only one creampie scene with Saki Hatsumi in chapter 2... I guess I should be thankful there's no anal? But in the final lesbian scene, pulling out the 'lethal weapon'—a modern sex toy, aka the 'electric massager' (lol)—really ruined the world-building they worked so hard to create (lol).
