A passionate drama by director Gunji Kawasaki! On the day of her husband's funeral, widow Shizuko is surrounded by hungry men. Whether it's numbness from grief or something else, she accepts them one by one, leading to a wild and chaotic end.
The story is decent enough, but the crucial parts are heavily censored and lack any close-ups. There are way too many close-ups of her moaning face; I wish they’d filmed more of the full picture. It leaves me feeling unsatisfied. The actress is great, which makes it such a waste.
A sexual elegy set at a funeral, directed by the visionary Gunji Kawasaki. One day, Kenichi Tanaka, a wealthy man who lived a life of debauchery, passes away. His wife, Shizuko (Akane Shibuya, Nana Yokoo, Chinatsu Higashi), who inherited his vast fortune, is seduced by Kenichi's younger brother—who only approached her for the money—and they engage in a secret affair right inside the funeral hall. Meanwhile, Shizuko's younger brother, who falls in love at first sight with Kenichi's sister Hitomi (Hitomi Shiina, Mari Yamaguchi), drags her into an empty storage room where they indulge in an illicit affair while she's still in her mourning clothes. Later, Kenichi's mistress, Akiko (Akiko Kirishima), suddenly appears at the funeral, but she finds herself drawn to Kenichi's brother for his kindness, and the two share a passionate kiss after the service. By the way, the busty mature woman Ryoko Mita (bottom left on the cover), who plays Shizuko's sister Reiko, only has a bit part consisting solely of breast exposure.
