Probably both, honestly. The script is pretty half-baked and relies heavily on the actors to carry it. Nakada Ippei does a solid job as the male lead, and the supporting cast does their part, but... Fujisaki Mai, the lead actress, is really struggling with this messy script. She's only been acting for two years, and she doesn't seem to have the confidence to improvise or push back. The production team really dropped the ball here – Nakada and the supporting actors' performances are wasted because of the lack of support for Fujisaki. She has potential, so I hope they give her a better script and a more capable crew for her next project. I'd give it a terrible rating, but I'm adding points for Nakada and the supporting cast.
