The other reviews were low, but I bought it hoping for the best given the concept and cast. The result? I agree with the others. Ogawa-san's acting is as wonderful as ever and lived up to expectations, and the actresses' performances are just barely passable, but the scenario execution is poor. The story flow is bad, and it's a work that leaves you with nothing after watching. It's a disappointing result given how much I was looking forward to it.
The story is good, but there's no training scene and the sex scenes are too sparse. The actress isn't bad, but the line delivery is a bit off. I wish they had made this a two-disc set, included her life after the divorce, and really taken their time with it!
Saki Ninomiya is still cute, but in this film, they gave her a permed, 'milf-style' hairstyle to fit the married woman role. It felt so out of place and was a real letdown. She wore that same hairstyle in every single scene. I really wish they had just kept her hair straight and gone for a cute, young housewife look. She’s the type of actress who relies on her looks rather than her acting, so making her look like an older woman just kills her appeal. It’s a waste of such great raw material.
