This is the debut work of Yuka Oshima, who is still very active today. She later mentioned she only intended to do three films at the time, but perhaps because of the 'sexless marriage' setting in the film, her eager attitude is quite impressive. This is Yuka Oshima's debut work. I've seen over ten of her films, but somehow I missed this one. Watching her debut now, you can still see a sense of innocence despite her mature charm; her bashfulness is something you don't really see in her later work, which I appreciated. It's a long film at about two and a half hours, so the costume changes in every scene are a nice touch. The white denim pants, in particular, are great—they really accentuate her curves. Still, it's hard to believe this was eight years ago. I'm just grateful she's still active today.
