I was able to watch it without any discomfort. Since it's a more restrained theme, I wondered if there'd be awkward reactions during the insertion, but it ended cleanly and faithfully to the source material. Unfortunately, I managed to stay pretty rational the whole time lol. I was hoping for some genuinely intense foreplay that felt beyond acting, but that didn't quite happen. So it wasn't a full-on, wild ride, and the raw emotion felt a bit subdued, but I can see why someone who likes drama would enjoy it. Whether it's genuinely intense or just acting, the important thing is that *we* enjoy it, right? That's probably the true way to watch AV. But I'll still keep searching for the truly hardcore, fainting-inducing stuff, but I definitely felt compelled to leave a review.
I mentioned in the info for the first installment and reviews for the second, but the Himazaki Hanas I had in my head was always kind and cheerful. I just couldn't picture her as this downbeat, brusque heroine. But while reading the original manga this time, I naturally projected Hanas onto the character and started getting hyped for the live-action adaptation, wondering if they'd include butt pinching and neck choking! I was really looking forward to how they'd portray the intensity. The acting perfectly captured the original's initial abstinence, the later release, the excitement of finally letting go, and even the visible erotic breaths unique to manga. Seriously, it's a must-watch. Highly recommend.
Watched this with a friend, and the scenes between Misato and Maeda are getting increasingly intense. The drama portion is enjoyable too, and Himesaki Hana is just adorable! Both the actress playing Misato and Maeda are perfect for their roles.
