I bought it because the jacket cover was so impactful. The male actor was creepy in a good way, which really highlighted the actress's fragility. The contrast made it feel like a dark fantasy. I liked that the male actor didn't talk much and expressed his feelings through subtitles. I kept expecting a worse outcome, but it wasn't as bad as I thought—though ethically, it's definitely problematic. If you take the AV aspect out, it's a story where no one is saved; if you include it, it's hard to get off to. It's hard to stay erect when the setting looks so cold. The jacket was striking, and the fridge scene is definitely the highlight. You get a good look at the actress's body, too.

The visual direction creates a thorough sense of unease, and Nana Maeno's acting, which doesn't break that immersion, really sets the mood. You can really feel the director's carefully crafted vision.
