The husband was her high school teacher who had lost his wife, and the stepmother had been taking care of his daughter since her student days, so the daughter is happy that the 'big sister' she loved has become her mom. After her husband dies in an accident, the young stepmother is determined to protect her daughter. She ends up being violated due to her husband's debts, but she suffers alone to shield her daughter. At first, the daughter is disgusted, unable to accept that her mother is sleeping with a stranger so soon after her father's death. But upon realizing her mother is sacrificing herself for her sake, she offers herself to lighten the burden. The sight of this non-blood-related parent and child protecting each other is both beautiful and tragic. Neither actress is particularly skilled, but they really commit to their roles, and overall, I think the production quality as a drama is quite high.
