First time watching this series. Was really looking forward to seeing Yoshinaga Touko and Yano together. Honestly didn't quite feel the director's obsession with the arch. The ending is steamy, even with the lingering guilt. The passionate kiss with Yano was fantastic. I recently bought an Ichishiro release in the same series, and it really highlights how much the actor's performance matters. Yano really brings out the best in Yoshinaga. He's perfect for mature content. I think he would have elevated the Ichishiro piece too. Matsumoto still needs work. For younger roles, Saji or Hayashi would be a better fit. Yoshinaga was phenomenal, as always.
