A story titled 'Sex Earth Defense Force,' based on the idea that the peak of sexual climax becomes energy used to attack enemies. The character settings are diverse, from the cool-headed Captain Kurokawa to the devoted Officer Misono, and their solid acting makes the somewhat outlandish plot work. The sight of a man and woman realizing their fate to perish in war while becoming intensely aroused is, beyond just physical, mentally erotic and poignant. Is it too much to say that Officer Misono, disappearing while saying 'goodbye' with teary eyes, reminds me of Bruce Willis in the movie 'Armageddon'?
*I was expecting it to be interesting because of the title and the actress, but everything about it was disappointing.
I had high hopes for this as an erotic parody, but the drama segments are catastrophic. I want to defend it, but there are just too many flaws to overlook. The only part that worked was the 'Magic Power Room' sequence; I wish they had just stuck to that throughout. If they had only utilized the contrast between Sumire Kurokawa's sadistic side and Waka Misono's masochistic side... Also, it should have been shot entirely from a POV perspective.
*Sumire Kurokawa's acting was generally good, with a commanding tone. I would love to see this done in other works as well. Waka Misono has a very good body, but she lacks a "compelling feeling" and is just an average sexist. Does it bring out the uniqueness of this work? It's a bit strange when you think about it. I wanted them to stick to filming inside the ship (?) subjectively, as I felt it was different from the usual AV. That's a shame.
The cover art looks like a comedy. And in the worst way possible, the movie is exactly like the cover. Sumire Kurokawa and Waka Misono were beautiful, but the script is cheap, and above all, the POV shots just don't get me excited.
