The actresses were good. However, the actor is a veteran middle-aged guy. A nephew older than his aunt? It feels kind of gross.
It felt like there were two different Akis. I personally love Aki Sasaki, so it was a real treat to see her in a different style all in one production.
It feels like they just cut off the first part of a two-part story. They hint at what the replica is, but the scene with the biological mother is only a few shots at the beginning... Also, they insert original illustrations way too often, which ruins the immersion. Regardless, Aki Sasaki is beautiful, and personally, the scene with the niece was erotic and good.
It was generally good, but I wanted a serious encounter with the 'mother' in the true sense, not just the 'mom' role. Ending the last scene with the cousin... what a letdown.
True to its nature as a collaboration, the story is complex, but it's a masterpiece thanks to the brilliant dual role played by the legendary Aki Sasaki. The only disappointment is that since the original story seems to conclude in the second part, the highly anticipated climax with the biological mother is missing. It's a bit of a letdown, but even so, it's undoubtedly a masterpiece.
