WO-008 - Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and the Beautiful Stepmother: Sumire Mizukawa

I see some people realized this is a parody of Robert Kiyosaki's book. I haven't read the book so I don't know if they just took the title or the content too, but either way, this industry is great at coming up with clever hooks. It's a story where the bland husband is quickly 'removed' from the scene, leaving the mother-in-law, Sumire, to comfort herself, only to be caught and fall into depravity. The cast all gave great performances. No matter how much money you have, a man without masculine charm is useless; happiness isn't something you can buy. The sepia-toned color palette brings out a strong decadent aura, which fits perfectly with the aesthetic vibe Sumire exudes. I personally love the decadent atmosphere that permeates the whole work; it's incredibly arousing. It's a bit of a shame that it feels a bit rushed due to the runtime, but I don't think it lacks in terms of the affair dynamic or depth. If they tailored the length to the source material, then it's fine as is. Actresses with that aesthetic, ethereal aura like Suzu Honjo or Miu Shiramine would be perfect for this kind of work; I'd love to see them in it.

The source material seems to be that book that was a trend a few years ago. It was funny how they followed the lines from the original(?) properly. It's a NTR story, but the happy ending was a fresh touch. The actress playing the mother had a celebrity vibe and was perfect. What was disappointing was that the frequently played BGM didn't fit at all, and the scenes were too dark to see clearly. She's a beautiful mother, so I want to see her in a bright place—why night or evening? Also, the runtime is short, so the drama felt rushed. If they had shown a bit more of their daily life, it could have been a masterpiece...
