Perhaps because this genre is difficult to pull off in VR, it creates various contradictions and inconsistencies, but this work is saved by the performer's acting. Along with the performer's expressions of contempt and fear, there is a constant, hollow screaming that doesn't feel scripted. Honestly, there is no better representation of resistance to violence and helplessness than this. Given the production period and the limitations of VR, it's an excellent performance. I also appreciate that the production team didn't shy away from the concept. Similar works often depict violence only to end with a lame twist where the victim suddenly wants it, or the protagonist becomes their savior. There's no need for such half-baked direction that tries to soothe one's own inferiority, guilt, or ressentiment, or confirm the user's hypocritical heart. This work is good because it depicts the violence to the very end. After all, you wouldn't expect such a narrative from a psychopathic or monomaniacal character in a movie. Keeping her clothes on until the end also effectively expresses an obsession with the cosplayer, so that's not an issue at all. Even when depicting violence, there's the inherent contradiction of VR where the partner has to be cooperative, but you can see the effort to hide that by limiting the positions and actions. Still, it lacks movement and dynamism, but if you want that, you shouldn't be watching in VR anyway. You must remember that this is a first-person perspective. That said, I question the necessity of the 'tracking' perspective at the beginning. The footage is heavily blurred, making it hard to see and failing to convey the feeling of a chase. That doesn't mean the scene should be cut, but if it's just for an intro, it would have been better to insert it as footage the protagonist shot while scouting. Or, they could have scouted during the day and executed at night. Also, it's a common trope, but using toys while depicting violence just kills the mood. There's no end to nitpicking, but overall, it's a well-structured medium-length work that sticks to its concept and is saved by the performer's committed acting. In this genre, you watch for the performer's performance, and this work delivers on that.
Watched this via the VR channel catalog on PSVR. The initial travel scene seems to be in Akihabara, but I'm not sure if that travel was necessary... the image quality during that part is poor. It's fine that she resists until the end, but she barely takes off any clothes, so it's hard to see her physical features. I can't be certain due to the colored contacts and outfit, but judging by her teeth in the opening dialogue scene, I suspect it might be 'Koharu Asai'.
Does anyone know the actress's name? Please let me know! I want to watch works that don't feature this actor or director. As for the film itself, as you might expect, it ends with her mostly clothed. Even when the panties are taken off, you only see the actor's hands. The angles are distant and there's very little movement. The sex scenes seem to be aiming for a 'non-consensual' vibe, so it's just endless doggy style. Plus, there's a throwaway missionary scene. Personally, I don't see a single redeeming quality.
The packaging and the actual footage were cute, and the excitement built up during the city part, but once the play started, it felt quite monotonous; despite her acting reluctant, the actual performance was very standard. It would have been better if they went harder, or conversely, had a pattern where she gets turned on and moans mid-way.
I've been to Akihabara, but I've never seen anyone this cute. She's that level of adorable. Plus, fulfilling the fantasy of a stalker-rape scenario... seriously, thank you.
