Throughout, Momoko keeps a look of constant anxiety and unease. Eventually, she loses the will to resist his relentless, irrational behavior. Brainwashed and hollowed out, she has no choice but to surrender to her primal instincts. The final scene, where she spreads her legs and thrusts her hips while whispering lewd words, is the true essence of Momoko Isshiki. Even her apologies to her daughter during the act become nothing more than immoral fuel for the sex. The way the film avoids portraying her as simply 'horny' or 'physically aroused' from the start makes the narrative compelling and evokes genuine empathy for the mother-in-law. This is largely due to the strong performances of both actors. It doesn't just end with the final act; there's an epilogue that ties everything together with the theme of 'pregnancy,' which shows a sense of responsibility for the work. If I had to nitpick, the long periods where the son-in-law and mother are left alone are a bit unnatural, and some follow-up on that would have been nice. Lately, many of Isshiki's works have felt like they focus solely on the intensity of the situations. However, without a convincing background or a partner who can match the acting, even a great performance can fall flat. In that sense, this is a masterpiece that fully draws out both the charm and the technical skill of Momoko Isshiki.
