I became a fan of Saki-san after watching 'At a Business Hotel on a Business Trip,' so I bought this one too. It's a shame she's retired and I can't see any new work from her. From late 2019 to March 2020, while I like the actresses themselves, casting people like Juri Yamaguchi, Kana Mito, and Ayumi Miura as stepmothers in their mid-to-late 30s is just too unnatural. It's a minor detail, but since women can legally marry at 16 in Japan, even if the stepmother and daughter both married (and gave birth) at 16, the stepmother would be at least 36. While that technically fits, it's usually considered extremely young even if they married at 20, which would make the stepmother at least 40. Considering that, these actresses are all way too young to play stepmothers. Honestly, looking at those three, it's hard to buy them as stepmothers—it just breaks the immersion. You can't just cast anyone as a stepmother.
